A Child's Day - 3 years old

Clock

9:00 - Alice enters the vestibule with a big smile and an announcement that it is "precipitating". She greets her teacher by shaking hands and saying "Bonjour". She hangs up her coat, places her lunch box in her cubby area, takes off her mud boots and puts on her slippers.

Clock

9:20 - Alice is happily engaged painting a picture using water colors. She shows her picture to a friend, and places it on the drying rack. Time for another picture, and then another. She is in the mood for painting today.

Clock

10:00 - Alice is in the peace corner, gazing at the fountain and letting the water run over her fingers. She stays here for 15 minutes.

Clock

10:20 - Feeling hungry, Alice notices that the snack table is occupied by two of her friends. She places her name card on the waiting tray. A teacher suggests that she visit the food preparation station while she is waiting. After putting on a smock and washing her hands, she carefully peels a banana, slices it into pieces and places them into a cup with a pair of tongs. She then adds a little fresh cream, and delights in a private snack!

Clock

10:50 - Alice notices that a group activity has begun on the continent mat. All of her friends are gathered to watch a presentation of a new art project. Greatly enjoying a baby (doll) washing activity, she decides to finish her task. After the baby is lovingly swaddled, she cleans up her work, hangs up her wet towel, replaces it with a dry one, and quietly joins the group.

Clock

12:00 - It is a warm day, and Alice is happily playing in the bean pond with two friends. "Bean soup with pine cones, anybody?" "Definitely a picnic lunch day!"

Clock

1:30 - Alice is busy making her "nest" in the nap-room. She carefully lays out her blanket and pillow, and lovingly tucks in her cuddly rabbit, as she uses the toilet, and joins her friends for story time.

Clock

3:00 - With still-sleepy eyes, Alice enjoys a post nap snack with a friend.

Clock

3:30 - Alice is swinging with a friend, as her Daddy comes to pick her up.
