The Association Montessori Internationale http://www.montessori-ami.org/ was founded in 1929 by Dr. Maria Montessori to maintain the integrity of her life's work, and to ensure that it would be perpetuated after her death. AMI's activities include: 
1) Providing guidance! for AMI training courses;
2) Coordinating a Training of Trainers programme.
3) Guiding the manufacturers recognized by AMI in the production of approved Montessori materials;
4) Overseeing the publication of Dr. Montessori's books.
5) Organizing congresses and study conferences;
6) Affiliating Montessori Societies; and
7) Publishing the magazine 'Communications' and a
web site on the World Wide Web.
